Events

We have many events that happen at First Lutheran.  We allow our building to be used by multiple organizations.  Most events are open to the public, but there are some that are private events based upon membership of the organization presenting the event.  Would you like to use our building?  Please contact the office for information.

Coffee Bar / Prayer Garden Fundraiser

Sunday July 30th
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
First Lutheran Church

Jenni Durant will be raising funds to construct a prayer garden for the 2008 tornation victims at Little Sioux Ranch Camp.

Wood badge is a leadership program where you gain valuable leadership skills for inside and outside of scouting.  You gain experience of working in a patrol, camping, cooking, and working as a group. Wood badge is bringing a vision to life. Leading to make a difference. Learning tools of the trade. Models for success. And living the values.
I had the honor of being part of the 2017 wood badge class. I learned a lot of different things. As part of this class you have ticket items which you have 18 months to complete. One of my tickets was to build a prayer garden for the 2008 tornado victims at Little Sioux Ranch Camp by the chapel. A bench, perennial flowers, a few stepping Stones, and a memorial plaque. Thrivent Financial has given me some startup money. I am needing to raise a couple hundred dollars to get my project paid for. I will be hosting a coffee bar Sunday July 30 before and after worship services. Freewill donation. We will have coffee, creamers, coffee cake and muffins. Please plan on attending this worthy event. The tornado hit Siouxland hard. Our local scouts we’re at the camp of the time of the tornado. I am looking for helpers youth and adults to come out and help me with my project when I get funds and set a project installation date. If you can’t make it, you can leave donations at the church. Thank you so much for your help.
