{"id":1004,"date":"2018-01-26T11:26:21","date_gmt":"2018-01-26T17:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.flcssc.org\/wordpress\/?p=1004"},"modified":"2018-01-26T11:27:54","modified_gmt":"2018-01-26T17:27:54","slug":"energized-and-moving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flcssc.org\/wordpress\/2018\/01\/26\/energized-and-moving\/","title":{"rendered":"Energized and Moving!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flcssc.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/NL-February-2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">February Newsletter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We recently started our new church year, a new year (Welcome 2018), a new congregational year after the annual meeting and a new council.\u00a0 That is a lot over the last couple of months!\u00a0 Can you feel the energy?\u00a0 Can you feel the Spirit moving about?\u00a0 I sure can.\u00a0\u00a0 Take a look at the narrative budget again and get energized by all that we do, in the name of God, with your support.<\/p>\n<p>We had a great end of the year.\u00a0 What\u2019s that you say?\u00a0 Sure, we came in very strong and that should energize us all.\u00a0 We did not come in as far in debt as we had anticipated.\u00a0 There was a lot of people stepping up near the end.\u00a0 Now to help each of us to keep up this energy so we can be in the black by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>We have such great opportunities here at First.\u00a0 Now that we are in our congregation\u2019s new year, we can continue to grow our congregation, grow is mission opportunities, grow in service to each other, grow our leadership, grow our giving of time and talents.<\/p>\n<p>We have a new members class this month.\u00a0 As part of this class, I invite everyone to partake in the Spiritual Gifts portion of the class.\u00a0\u00a0 Join in fellowship with the new members and \u00a0find out what God is calling you to be involved in.\u00a0 We have already had one baptism, but others have started the conversation about baptism.\u00a0 I have been in conversation about weddings and vows renewals.\u00a0 All of this is exciting because it shows us the excitement and activity of this congregation.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Lent promises to be part of that excitement. \u00a0We again will be sharing our services with St. Paul United Methodist.\u00a0 The services will be more contemplative and will grow each week.\u00a0 Not only do I anticipate attendance to grow, but each week we will grow what is offered in the service.
