{"id":5849,"date":"2024-08-29T17:07:36","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T22:07:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.flcssc.org\/wordpress\/?p=5849"},"modified":"2025-01-18T11:10:55","modified_gmt":"2025-01-18T17:10:55","slug":"ponderings-from-pastor-patti-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flcssc.org\/wordpress\/2024\/08\/29\/ponderings-from-pastor-patti-september\/","title":{"rendered":"Ponderings From Pastor Patti &#8211; September 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>\u201cThat Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 \u2013 Ephesians 3:17<\/p>\n<p>Well, it\u2019s that time of year when the days begin to grow shorter and the earth begins to change.\u00a0 The fall season will soon be upon us full swing.\u00a0 I tend to get an itch this time of the year to learn something new.\u00a0 By reading or taking a class \u2026it\u2019s one of the ways that I remain rooted and grounded in love.\u00a0 Self-care and growth.\u00a0 Things of my life that mean a great deal to me.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This month, I plan to grow and learn as I ponder on September\u2019s focus in our Cultivating Love Theme.\u00a0 This month we think about connections.\u00a0 \u201cCultivating Love through Connection\u201d Ponder with me.\u00a0 Let\u2019s start by focusing on some questions that come to mind:<\/p>\n<p>How am I connected?\u00a0 With family, friends and even community?<\/p>\n<p>How is God calling me to cultivate connection?<\/p>\n<p>We are God\u2019s people together.\u00a0 We <em>are<\/em> connected within the faith community, but we are also connected through the larger community.\u00a0 We are connected with each other right here in First Lutheran Church, but that connection spreads out to the larger church as well.<\/p>\n<p>Typically in September, the ELCA has a Sunday designated as \u201cGod\u2019s Work, Our Hands\u201d, when congregational members work together on projects to reach out and help others in the community and in the world.\u00a0 This is a great way many churches are connecting with each other as well as the world outside their church walls.
