{"id":5916,"date":"2025-01-18T11:10:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-18T17:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.flcssc.org\/wordpress\/?p=5916"},"modified":"2025-01-18T11:10:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-18T17:10:00","slug":"ponderings-from-pastor-patti-january-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flcssc.org\/wordpress\/2025\/01\/18\/ponderings-from-pastor-patti-january-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Ponderings from Pastor Patti &#8211; January 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Happy New Year<\/em><\/strong> \u2026 is a wish that can mean so many things.\u00a0 It could be about happiness for that one day when we flip our calendars to a new year\u2026or about happiness for the whole year represented with that calendar.<\/p>\n<p>It could be about new beginnings\u2026a time to start over.\u00a0 Or it could be about a wish (or blessing) for wholeness and peace throughout the year ahead.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cAnd so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.\u00a0 Keep on seeking, and you will find.\u00a0 Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.\u00a0 For everyone who asks, receives.\u00a0 Everyone who seeks, finds.\u00a0 And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0 Luke 11:9-10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>As you read this article, many of you are recovering from the wonderful celebrations to ring in a new beginning, and wondering what the new year has in store for us.\u00a0 You\u2019ve probably taken your tree down, and all the trimmings packed away with just fading memories of the gifts and gatherings last month.\u00a0 And all we are left with is a new beginning, a new year\u2026unspoiled time and space before us.\u00a0 So how about we take a moment and take note of where we are right this minute and where we want to go.<\/p>\n<p>Every day is a chance to begin again with the Lord.\u00a0 So, let\u2019s not cling to what has been (good or bad) and welcome 2025 as a chance to begin anew.\u00a0 Christ is here with us and everyday is a new day.\u00a0 A time to look in the mirror and remind us that God loves us.\u00a0 A time to splash water and remember that we are forgiven and fed.\u00a0 A time to wish for God\u2019s love to live among us and through us.<\/p>\n<p>Blessings as we explore this new beginning in time and space.\u00a0 Walk with me as we are challenged to get to know who we are, who our neighbor is, and who God wants us to be in our community of faith and in this community in the Northeast corner of Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2013 Pastor Patti Meyer<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year \u2026 is a wish that can mean so many things.\u00a0 It could be about happiness for that one day when we flip our calendars to a new year\u2026or about happiness for the whole year represented with that calendar.
