The theme of our Synod Assembly this year was “Imagine! Imagine? Imagine…” inspired by Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine.”
Bishop Scott and workshop leaders talked about how we are one church, better together. That was certainly shared in the Creative Worship Ideas workshop that I attended as we all learned together some ways to share God’s love in the world. What I loved most about Assembly is seeing colleagues that I don’t get to see but twice a year and sharing our joys and disappointments with each other. It’s a support that is unmatched in any other part of our worship lives.
What I learned from this year (maybe it’s more a reminder) is that we are all together in this mission of Sharing God’s Love. It’s by the power (of God) at work within us that makes us able to accomplish abundantly more than we can ask or imagine. We can comfort others, work together, help those in need, and feed the hungry by working together and letting God be our guide…we can’t do it alone.
Can we imagine together? Can we work toward a better us? Let’s imagine working together for the good of the community we live in. Let’s imagine what God can do through us when we work together. Will you imagine with me?
